Interlibrary Loan Service
At your request, we shall try to get for you from another library an item we do not own.
1) Current, valid Deerfield Public Library card. Charges or fines on the may restrict service.
2) No guarantee whatsoever on delivery time. Allow at least two weeks, but an item may take longer or it may arrive sooner.
3) If you have a cancel-after date (a date after which you would no longer want an item), you must specify it.
4) We call or email you twice to tell you an item is in. We put a $1.00 charge on your library card for an item you do not pick up.
5) Only five (5) requests in any part of the process at any time.
6) Repeat request for a particular title allowed only twice within a year.
7) No requests on items we own.
8) No requests on items in a format we do not own or in a format we own but do not lend.
9) No requests on items less than six (6) months old. We can take a Consider for Purchase request on a new item.
10) No multiple copies of a title.
11) Requests for audiovisual items only within the state of
12) No requests on DVDs or videos if you are under 18 years old unless you have already have a parent’s or guardian’s permission on file.
13) For an item that may have a charge from the supplying library, we ask you to specify before we request the item the limit you are willing to pay.
14) No charge for postage.
15) For photocopies, we observe national copyright law and guidelines.
