Summer Reading Program 2018: Reading Takes You Everywhere

It’s the time of year we’ve all been waiting for…our Summer Reading Program for kids, teens, and adults kicks off on Saturday, June 9! This year’s theme, Reading Takes You Everywhere, is meant to inspire readers to explore new worlds and learn about people, places, and things they might not otherwise encounter.

Building off of our theme, there will be plenty of opportunities to explore, create, and read this summer at the Library! Take a look at our summer issue of Browsing or check out our event calendar to see all of the great summer programs we have planned for kids, teens, and adults.

Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Day

Summer Reading sign-up begins on Saturday, June 9 at 9 a.m. at our Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Day. Check out our schedule so you won’t miss out on the fun!

  • Sign-up, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
  • Face Painting, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.
  • Photo Booth, 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Kids ages Birth–5th Grade can sign up for our Youth Summer Reading Program. Teens in Grades 6-12 will participate in the Teen program, though 18-year-olds may choose to participate in the Teen or Adult program. And of course, we have an enjoyable, easy Adult program for patrons 18 and up.

There will be fun sign-up giveaways (while supplies last) for kids, teens, and adults who register for Summer Reading in-person at the Library. Details on the giveaways, each of the programs, and online sign-up can be found on our Summer Reading Program page.
