The Deerfield Public Library Board and Staff mourn the loss of our cherished board member, Emily Wallace. We join our community in mourning her death and share our condolences with her family and friends.
Emily has been a DPL board member since 2021. In her years of service, she was an enthusiastic supporter of the library’s programs, materials, services, and staff. Emily often drew on her personal experiences as a Deerfield school teacher and contributed ideas to inform library decisions. Her experience working with young readers and her dedication to youth programming are qualities that will be deeply missed.
Emily served on both the Building Committee and the Memorials Committee, where she revitalized the Giving Tree program and helped ensure that community members who generously give their time to the library are recognized for their contributions.
Emily’s dedication to this community was reflected in all that she did. Everyone at DPL will miss Emily’s presence and contributions, not only to our library but also to the Deerfield community.
