I’ve always enjoyed crafting–I’ve been knitting for years and I recently took up painting (or trying to paint). But during the pandemic, I found that crafting can be a great way to take your mind off things. Immersing yourself in a craft project requires you to focus your thoughts on just the one thing in front of you, which can be a great stress reliever.
Fortunately, the library has access to Creativebug, an online resource that provides access to thousands of arts and crafts video tutorials. Creativebug has something for everyone. Whether you want a quick, simple project, or something more involved, there are projects for children, adults, beginners, and advanced crafters. Over the past couple of years, I’ve made paper flowers, beaded leather wrap bracelets, marbled dipped cookies, and just recently I tried Acrylic Paint Pouring.
The paint pouring tutorial is a lot of fun. You don’t need any special painting skills to make some really cool artwork. You do need some supplies, which are readily available at any craft store or on Amazon, but they aren’t too expensive. Each painting comes out different and you never know what it will look like. Check out the fun paintings I made below.
Find your next craft project on Creativebug and send us your pics! We’d love to see your creations!
