Strive To Volunteer: Teen Volunteer Applications 2024

Believe it or not, Summer is fast approaching, and the Deerfield Public Library is looking for some stellar teen volunteers for our Strive to Volunteer program. The program goes from June 8 through August 4; training sessions will be held between Thursday, May 23 – Thursday, June 6.

We will be taking applications from now until Friday, May 10 at 6 p.m.; applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

We are looking for teens that will be entering 7th – 12th Grade in the Fall of 2024 interested in the following opportunities (you may do more than one):

  • SRP Table: SRP table volunteers will work 2 hour shifts at our summer reading sign-up table and do one of the following (of their choice): write a book review, make a book list, design a program poster, or create content for the Blog, Instagram or TikTok. We may also ask SRP table volunteers to help decorate the library or assemble Grab and Go Kits.
  • Program Volunteers: program volunteers will help Youth Services staff in running programs, this includes: prepping supplies, setting up the room, assisting attendees throughout the program, and helping to clean up after. A list of programs looking for volunteer help will be sent out after applications are closed.

If you are interested but want to learn more, email our Teen Librarian, Dylan at dgrube@deerfieldlibrary.org.

Applications are available here or as a print out at the Youth Services Desk or in the Teen Space on the slat wall by the gaming station.

Book Buddies is a separate opportunity for teens to volunteer this Summer outside of the Strive to Volunteer program, please contact khenry@deerfieldlibrary.org with any questions.
