Public Library Access and Community for Everyone.

Are you looking for your place? Look no further! At the Deerfield Public Library, we are committed to meeting the needs of ALL our patrons. With that in mind, we are very excited to announce that we are introducing a new program series geared specifically towards our adult patrons with intellectual, cognitive, and developmental disabilities, as well as their parents and caregivers. The program series is called P.L.A.C.E. and it stands for Public Library Access and Community for Everyone.

princess-brideOur first P.L.A.C.E. program will be on Thursday, January 12 from 6:00 –  8:30 p.m. Please join us for an evening of community, conversation, and fun with a sensory-friendly viewing and film discussion of Rob Reiner’s beloved classic, “The Princess Bride.” Come enjoy this sweet, funny, and exciting adventure film for the first time, or as a repeat viewing. Light refreshments will be served, and parents and caregivers are encouraged to attend. Click here to register. We hope you can join us!

These programs are planned in collaboration with the Deerfield Coalition, a local nonprofit organization that provides support for people with disabilities, and their families.
