Tournament of Books: Medal Contest

In case you haven’t heard, we’re celebrating the 10th anniversary of our beloved Tournament of Books! Each year, children in the Library and across the DPS 109 schools vote in the Tournament to determine a winning book in various brackets. This year, the Tournament features eight brackets: Picture Books, Early Readers, Chapter Books, Juvenile Series, Comic Books, Manga, Non-fiction, and Teen Books.

For the first time ever, and in honor of the 10th anniversary, we are hosting a medal design contest! Students in grades K-8 may enter up to two designs. The winning designs will be selected by a panel of judges and will be placed on the Tournament’s Champion books in the Library. Students who design the winning medals will win a special prize as well!

Rules are as follows:

  • Your designs must fit in the circles found on the official entry form.
  • Your designs must include the letters TOB.
  • Your designs can include any colors you like and should be appropriate.
  • Your designs can’t include any specific books or characters.
  • You must be in Kindergarten through 8th grade to enter the contest.
  • All entries must include your name, age, grade, school, or homeschool, as well as an adult’s name and email address. This information must be on the back of this form.
  • You may enter ONE or TWO different designs, but no more than two!
  • All entries must be turned into the Deerfield Library Youth Services Desk no later than Friday, May 5th at 6:00 p.m.
  • EIGHT lucky winners will be selected by a panel of judges and awarded a special prize, along with the opportunity to have their sticker on a winning book in the Deerfield Public Library.
