Welcome Back to the MakerSpace!!!

The past year has been one wild ride, with twists and turns coming from every direction, forcing us here in the MakerSpace as well as everyone else to find ways to adapt to the ever-changing situation of this pandemic. Fortunately, we’re starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Earlier in the year, the library re-opened its doors to patrons who are once again able to browse the stacks in person (in a limited capacity, of course!). We here in the MakerSpace however, were still left to communicate with patrons through virtual means only, as our Maker doors still remained closed to the public. We’ve been doing our very best to accommodate and help patrons fully realize their projects over video calls, emails, and other virtual means, but none of that really compares to coming in and talking face-to-face about the details of your project.

Finally, we’re beyond excited to announce that in-person MakerSpace appointments will be making a limited comeback! You heard it right, we’re once again going to be permitting patrons into the MakerSpace by appointment only. We cannot express how much we’re looking forward to working one-on-one with patrons again, however, we will have various restrictions in place to ensure the safety and well-being of both visiting patrons and the MakerSpace staff.

  • The MakerSpace will be accepting limited appointments per day, with a time limit of 90 minutes per appointment.
  • Masks must always be worn in the MakerSpace, no exceptions.
  • Only the person who makes the appointment may come into the MakerSpace. No guests are allowed including spouses, children, family members, etc.
  • Appointments end at the scheduled end-time, even if a project is not completely finished. No exceptions.

With these guidelines in place, we believe we’ll be able to offer the same exceptional services we did when we first opened our doors in late 2019, in a safe and controlled capacity. In-person MakerSpace appointment availability can be found on our appointment booking page.

We look forward to seeing familiar and new creative minds come by as we once again open our doors!
